Strategic Plan Long Text Description
NYG’s 10-year Strategic Plan is presented in a fan-shaped graphic with five blades, each representing a key strategic direction. At the center of the fan is a circle containing NYG’s 10-year vision: World-class Care, 24/7. Flanking the fan are two boxes—one highlighting NYG’s mission, People-centred care for a healthier community, and the other showcasing the organization’s core values: integrity, compassion, acceptance, respect, and excellence. Together, the first letters of these values form the acronym ICARE.
Each blade of the fan reflects a specific area of focus for the next decade:
- People and Culture describes NYG as a place where the best people want to learn, grow, and innovate.
- Specialized Excellence envisions NYG as a leader in innovating and integrating care pathways for growing populations with complex needs, achieving world-class outcomes.

staff, physicians, students, volunteers, patients, caregivers, community members, donors, partners, and government through nearly 3000 surveys, focus groups, multi-language community events, town halls, idea boards, and interviews.
